Letter Square Solver

Enter the letters on each side of a letter-square word puzzle (3 or 4 sides) and this solver finds one-word and two-word chains that use every letter. Words may only alternate sides, and each next word must start with the previous word's last letter. Results come from our compiled, versioned lexicon.

Number of sides
Letters A–Z only. Every side needs the same number of letters (1–6), and no letter may repeat anywhere on the square.

About the Letter Square Solver

A letter square is a word puzzle with letters arranged on the sides of a square or triangle. Playable words use only the square's letters, never take two letters in a row from the same side, and chain together when each word starts with the last letter of the word before it. The solver searches for chains of at most two words that cover every letter.

How to use it

  1. Choose 3 or 4 sides and type each side's letters into its field.
  2. Press Solve square to list one-word and two-word coverage chains.
  3. Or load today's practice square, a deterministic puzzle generated from this build's word list and seeded by the current UTC date.

Data sources and limitations

Results are matches in one compiled lexical release (data version v1/2026.07-lexical.6) built from pinned source lists and frequency observations; membership here never implies validity in any official or published word game, and this page is not affiliated with any specific puzzle brand. Words shorter than three letters are not counted as playable. The default scope uses the build's higher-ranked commonness bands (build-specific ranking bands, not universal usage claims); the broader toggle adds the remaining source-list matches. Solution search is capped at the 6,000 best-ranked playable words and each solution list shows at most 40 entries ordered by fewest total letters, so extremely large squares may not list every possible chain. Words in the site's offensive-term display policy are excluded from results.
