Lyric Studio

Write lyrics or verse on the left; the right panel follows your cursor line and shows its syllable count, stress digits, and rhyme options for the line-final word, plus a rhyme-scheme map of your line endings. Drafts save in this browser only, and every phonetic fact comes from this build's pronunciation records.

Keyboard-first use

  • Type in the editor; the panel updates as your cursor moves between lines.
  • Ctrl+S (or Cmd+S) exports the active draft as a .txt file.
  • Tab from the editor reaches every suggestion; Enter on a suggestion inserts it at your cursor.
  • Escape inside the panel returns focus to the editor.

About Lyric Studio

Syllable counts, stress digits (1 primary, 2 secondary, 0 unstressed), and rhyme groupings come from the retained CMUdict-derived pronunciation records compiled into this lexical build (data version v1/2026.07-lexical.6). CMUdict primarily represents North American English, so counts and rhymes can differ by dialect.

A word without a record in this build shows no count and joins no rhyme group — that is a gap in this build's evidence, not a claim about the word. Per-word analysis uses each word's primary retained pronunciation variant; the perfect and same-ending suggestion lists come from the engine's variant-aware rhyme query. Slant suggestions use a coarse, deterministic grouping (shared vowel family plus a voicing-tolerant ending) built from the same records — they are an approximation of near-rhyme, not a poetic judgement. Commonness groupings are build-specific ranking bands, not universal usage claims.

Drafts live only in this browser's local storage and are never sent to the server for storage; the analysis requests send only the current line and its line-final words. Export regularly if a draft matters to you — clearing site data deletes drafts.
